The FIBA AmeriCup 2025 will be held in Nicaragua between August 22 and 31, bringing together the best national teams from the continent in pursuit of the regional crown to succeed the reigning champion, Argentina. Shooting guard Jean Montero will be the taronja representative in this tournament after being included in the Dominican Republic’s final roster. Joel Soriano, who will play the 2025–26 season with Casademont Zaragoza on loan from Valencia Basket, has also been named to the Caribbean team’s squad.

The Dominican Republic, coached by Néstor “Che” García, will compete in Group C and will open the tournament in the last game of the opening day, facing Colombia at 05:10 (CET) on Saturday, August 23. They will then face Argentina at 21:10 on Sunday, August 24, and will close the group stage against hosts Nicaragua at 02:40 in the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, August 26.

With the top two teams from each group and the two best third-place finishers advancing, a ranking from 1 to 8 will be created to determine the quarterfinal matchups, which will take place on Thursday, August 28. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, August 30 (times TBD), with the bronze medal game set for Sunday, August 31 at 22:40, and the final spilling into September, as it will be played at 02:10 CET on Monday, September 1.
